 Strive - To make a serious effort or attempt to achieve something. He strives to improve his language skills everyday. 

 Overwhelmed- Feeling completely defeated or unable to cope with a situation  After losing her job, she felt Overwhelmed by the thought of finding a new one.

 Congruence- Compatibility  The results show quite good congruence with recent studies. 

 Dreadful- Terrible, Frightful, horrible  He survived a dreadful accident. 

 Spooky - Frightening  The spooky house scared the kids.

 Expeditious- speedy The murder investigation needs to get expeditious.
